Our customer LILY’S offers pan-Asian cuisine at three locations in Basel and Zurich. These are modern catering outlets for anyone who enjoys good, healthy food. Sustainability, food waste and recycling are very present topics in gastronomy and LILY’S is aware of this responsibility.

They have therefore integrated an exciting solution, as their own DELIVERY business accounts for a not insignificant proportion of sales. A special stainless steel container with two pots was imported from Asia for the dishes. The pinto is widely used in Asia. Rice is placed in one pot and curry in the other. The advantage of stainless steel is that the containers are easy to clean and can be used again and again.

The stainless steel pots can be reused. However, the plastic lids are often disposed of as plastic material. As a result, LILY’S needed a sustainable solution for new plastic lids. Importing these from Asia is neither ecologically nor financially justifiable. LILY’S therefore looked for a producer from Switzerland 🇨🇭.

We produce the plastic lids in our production facility in Hombrechtikon and use recycled PET, which further reduces the CO2 footprint. The short delivery routes and the ability to produce smaller quantities have financial and environmental benefits for the catering business.
